I thought it was pretty funny and wasn't that disturbed. But it doesn't really turn me on either.

Vortices is a multipurpose social network. It fulfills functions such as:
Vortices is a threaded forum, meaning that you can directly reply to any message. A headline will typically link to an external site.
To post, you need to register an account. All it takes is a unique user name and a password.
You can of course add more information to your profile later.
Once you are signed in, you'll see a text input and a post button. This is for short messages. Click "Text" for longer updates.
You can use HTML or Markdown to format your posts. Two line breaks are needed to make a new paragraph. Here are some examples of Markdown syntax:
*italics*
**bold**
[link text](http://example.com)

- list item 1
- list item 2
- list item 3
- sub-item 1
- sub-item 2
> quoted text
code block (indent 4 spaces)
`code snippet
# heading 1
## heading 2
(up to 6 levels)
If you've signed in, you'll notice plus and minus buttons to the left of every post and reply. These are for voting. You may undo or reverse your vote as many times as you'd like. The sum of all votes becomes the number of points that an item. Note that any post you make automatically receives your vote.
In addition to voicing your opinion and keeping track for yourself, your vote affects how prominent a post is. When you first make a post, it will immediately appear at the top of the front page. This is due to the sorting algorithm dubbed "Hot". It is simply points squared over age. So something with nearly 0 age and one point has a near infinite "temperature" value, thus being the hottest thing around. The interesting thing about time is that it eventually evens out. While age may be a large handicap in the temperature of a day old post verses a brand new post, a week from now the now 7-day-old post will barely have an advantage over the now 8-day-old post. Then it will be their scores that really matter. While not too many older posts will be found on the front page, the Hot sorting algorithm affects reply threads and other pages as well.
There are other ways to sort things as well. You can find them in the menu. Keep in mind that the last sorting method you selected will be used on all pages. This can have some quirky results, such as going from the 3rd Hot page to the 3rd New page.
Originally, I intended to make a Facebook or MySpace clone, but I became enamored with Digg and later Reddit, so I decided that social news was a higher form. At its heart, Vortices is a Reddit clone that took me about a week and a half to program. But it only truly shone after months of tweaking.

Onigiri are just like sushi, but with lower cost ingredients, easier to make, and you can put cartoon faces on them.

Excerpt: You must not think me mad when I tell you what I found below the thin shell of chocolate used to disguise this bonbon's true face. Yes! Hidden beneath its rich exterior is a hideously moist cherry cordial! What deranged architect could have engineered this non-Euclidean aberration? I dare not speculate.
And there is more

I took out the user account system and put it into a separate library. Then I fixed it up and made it more secure. Since the passwords are encrypted in a different way, returning users are unable to sign in. If you would like to use your old account, please email me and I can help restore it.

So, in Astronomy, we have to make are own constellations, so I made one in dedication for Steven Colbert. Here it is.
One day, Zeus and all the other gods were sick of being wrong. So they decided to come together and make a being that held more power then all of them to find an ultimate truth of life, or if you will. The truthiness of life. Bestowing upon this being the strength of a god, and the flaws of a human, like poor eyesight, and one ear lower the the other... Common issues among mortals. This being was named Steven Colbert (Kol-burt) They placed him upon mortal men to see what would happen, just for fun. Unfortunately when he was thrown into the world like a dart, he had the misfortune to land in the forest, where he would be raised by a bear. The bear specifically, Papa bear O'Reilly, Taught Steven the way of the land. And as time pass, he forgot of his awesome power, and duties to the gods. It was when Papa bear O'reilly was angered however when a hunter confused him with a teleprompter featuring words hes never seen before. He snapped at Steven and frightened him with a rage hes never seen. Steven ran into the cities where he would be left alone to his own devices. Years pass, and Steven drifted through life without a purpose. He tried acting, but it was all too fake. That is when Colbert remembered his purpose in life, to find Truthiness. And so he set off to become a journalist for the truthinessiest broadcasters around, Fox News. When Steven arrived at Fox News head quarters, he saw that in years, Papa bear O'Reilly, was able to make a career out of himself by building a house of lies in tribute to what Steven would stand for, Truthiness. Steven was confused, and slightly conflicted by Papa bears betrayal. So he ran off to become as powerful as his Papa bear O'Rielly is. He changed his name from Colbert to Colbert (Coal-Bear). he changed his name to a more french sounding one to lure Liberals into a false sense of security, as so he could devestate them all the more, just like he was taught by his Papa bear. He tricked such stars like John Steward into employing him. Steven quietly trained his truth throughout the years until his goal was finally met. After years of enduring hell under the employment of Jon Steward, he received his own show. One that although small in numbers would grow into a vast army. With his show, he was able to save the Albino White Elephant of Africa by using his awesome powers of editing Wikipedia. He made himself an enemy of Rain, and Singed in Korean. He tackled the leads of the political worlds, and brought them to tears on his show, and finally achieved "Thruthiness." This rewarded Steven with many things; A bridge, Eagle, Turtle, Hockey Team, and show, are all named after Colbert. And thats why we have a constellation in honor of Steven. Not only to honor his greatness, We place it near the Big and Little bear to be a reminder of his ongoing battle against Bear, to let them know, there on notice.
